SoulFang inhabits the curious intersection of tenderness and power. They’re the dirty rockers who just raided your dad’s Motown collection. While their hard rock credentials are undeniable, their groove, texture, and sensuality draw lineage from classic 60s and 70s soul. Imagine if Amy Winehouse had gotten really into Guns N Roses, or if Led Zeppelin had written songs for Alicia Keys. SoulFang makes sultry, heavy music for people who like their retro rock served with a side of smoldering carnal desire.
OUR HISTORY
The band burst onto the scene with the Chemical Meditation E.P in May 2023 to tremendous fan response, hailed for combining the retro punch of '90s and '00s alternative rock with dreamy atmosphere and groove. They followed it up in June of 2024 with a phenomenal full-length record, titled Passions, Potions, Wicked Lullabies. Music Junkie Press called it “a genre-spanning masterpiece”, while SLUG Magazine noted that “few bands can satisfactorily cover so much thematic ground in a mere 12 tracks, but SoulFang pulls it off beautifully and leads the listener to genuine catharsis”.
Things took an unexpected turn in July 2024 when the band’s original singer, Liz, departed the group. But not to be deterred, SoulFang soon enlisted a spectacular new frontwoman in Phantom. Known for her powerful, soulful voice and dynamic stage presence, Phantom has brought a fresh energy to the group. Her arrival marks the beginning of the next era of SoulFang, as they forge ahead mixing jazz clubs with mosh pits, slow dancing with headbanging, and tenderness with shredding.
